Introduction
Hi, my name is Matthew Denny and I am on my way to becoming a teacher. Right now I am attending Hamline University and will be a senior this upcoming fall semester. Here at Hamline, I am majoring in Social Studies with a concentration in History and a minor in Elementary. Some other activities that I take part of is the Varsity Football team, Halo (Hispanic And Latino Organization) and work at Hancock Elementary School for my work study job
Working at Hancock I think has been a stepping stone for me in the direction of becoming a better educator and learner. Through working at Hancock and being on the football team, I have learned many skills that would help formulate my skills as a future teacher and use them in the classroom. With football I have learned how to be a team player and relating to a role as a teacher; I will be working with numerous teachers to help create lesson plans. With working at Hancock which is located in St. Paul, I have learned how to work with students from all sorts of diverse backgrounds, and I can use those skills and what I have seen to better communicate to my students. |
